Ghana’s Ministry of Works and Housing has received five bids to complete over 1,500 unfinished units in the Saglemi Housing project, Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah announced today.
The bids will be evaluated by an independent entity, to be selected in collaboration with the Public Procurement Authority on Wednesday. According to Minister Oppong Nkrumah, this process aims to ensure transparency in selecting a partner for the Saglemi Housing project.
“We have received five bids. Today, we have requested the assistance of the Public Procurement Authority to select an independent evaluation entity,” Minister Oppong Nkrumah stated during a media briefing. “By Wednesday, we will finalize the selection of this entity. Within seven days after that, we expect to receive the evaluation report, which will determine the preferred bidder among the five.”
The Salem Housing project, initially launched to provide affordable housing, has faced delays and financial challenges, prompting the government’s initiative to secure a suitable contractor to complete the development.
